The future of wallpaper - it's magnetic!

The custom of using wallpaper to decorate goes back all the way to the 16th century, when people would hang huge tapestries on their walls. Those who couldn't really afford a hand-woven tapestry turned to wallpaper brighten up their homes...and to help keep the heat in!

Since then wallpaper has become the staple diet of many a budding interior designer, and all over people are looking for new ideas to add a splash of colour and excitement to their walls.

No, that's not a typo, it's true. Magnetic wallpaper. Actual wallpaper that you can stick magnets to! It's not strictly the actual wallpaper that's magnetic. The liner is the magnetic part and the the wallpaper itself is lined with iron filings, but the principle still works, and it could become an invaluable addition to commercial spaces needing to change their designs often. Magnetic wallpaper could also put an end to all manner of office problems, such as awkward pinboards that keep falling off the wall, unsightly screw holes covered up by discoloured plaster, and having the same old boring portrait up for years on end.
